Wall Flower

Still in a vintage mood, and luckily creators lately seem to be putting out quite a bit of retro inspired clothing items so it works out great for me!
I got my skirt May C88 from Tres Blah and it is so cute! It even has like a little petticoat under it for added fullness. It was hard to decide when pattern to get, I wanted them all!
My top is an adorable off the shoulder cropped top from Tee*fy at June C88. I got it in yellow and then had to go back to get it in a few other colors and I think I might go get a few more before C88 switches over too.
I had had on white shoes when first put the outfit together, but I felt I needed a bit more color. What luck I found they cute wedge sandals from Fri.day at Summerfest in the perfect shade of red! I just love their look, I might end up getting them in another color or two as well before the even is up.

Summer Sherbert

I like pastels and wear them often no matter when, but something about Spring and Summer really makes me want to dress in pastels and bright colors all the time. Something also make me slap on as many different colors as I can in Summer too. As long as they are all pastels they all go together, right?

These were some of my favorite items I picked up last round of C88, but never blogged because I have been going crazy looking for the right place to take a picture. Nothing was calling to me. I wanted a retro feel and the search made me realize SL is REALLY lacking in retro inspired sims. I ended up just taking the picture in a vintage camper I got some Arcade ago.
I love love love this top from Tres Blah, so much I did get it in another color as well. It’s so cute with it’s little bow and polka dots. Though I do hope Tres Blah will maybe sometime make a non dotted version.
The high waisted jeans in pink from Tee*fy seemed the obvious bottom for my teal top. But when it came to finding shoes for my outfit I had some set backs. I know these shoes look perfect and match almost exactly, but they were not my first choice. Not because they are not cute shoes because they are totally adorable. But they are for the high slink foot. I did not have that foot and kinda thought it looked odd and painful. I went everywhere trying to find a similar feel in a shoe made for the mid foot, but had no luck. I gave in and bought the high foot so I could wear these shoes from Fri.day (also from last C88). I still think the high foot looks odd and painful, but it’s not so bad if there is a back strap around the heel at least in my eye.

Turtle Beach

There were so many things I wanted to blog from last month’s Collaber88 and I just did not get to them in time!. I put together a bunch of outfits, but then could not find places I to take pictures that completed the vision I had in my head. And then I got a new job in RL! That’s been taking a lot of my plus my scheduling is just all over the place.

I guess procrastinating worked out for this outfit! I found the hair at the June Collaber88 and my little turtle from is from June Arcade (which is almost over!) I also got my adorable froggy flip flops at the Arcade from Erratic. They are so cute they make me wish I could wear flip flops in RL and had a pair just like them.

Dizzy Had A Little Lamb

Nothing says Spring more than a cute flower dress and a baby lamb if you ask me! I was feeling especially Spring-y this week in this cute skirt and off the shoulder top I got at C88 from Tee*fy. It worked really well with the Oxford heels The Secret Store was offering which is awesome because I LOVE the shoes and was dying to wear them. C88 is just about done for this round so you better get down there to see if there is anything you missed.

I have been really bad this month. I have yet another new skin. Damn that Skin Fair! *shakes fist*
This is Emma from Essences and I could not get it off my mind. At first I was not going to get it because I had gotten a few others, but I kept thinking about it and putting the demo on.
I have been so lost for a skin since Dutch Touch stopped making skins. I would still wear Dutch Touch (and proudly did until just a 3 months ago), but since becoming a Slink mesh hand and feet convert I only wear skins with appliers. I know I can manually match the tone, but it doesn’t look the same as it does with the actual skin applied to the mesh. I have tearfully set aside my Dutch Touch skins, still hoping one day Iki will come back even if just to make appliers, and started searching for a new skin.
It’s been really hard. I wore Dutch Touch for YEARS non stop, I came to feel I was not me if I was not in my Dutch Touch skin and so now nothing feels like me. Then I put on this new Essences Emma skin and I see elements to it that drew me to DT skins too. This is the most me I have felt since taking off my DT skin. Emma has a cute little button like nose and a really great shape to her mouth, she is just beautiful. This is my favorite skin to come from Essences yet!

Snow Fall

I loved this cape coat instantly when I saw it at last month’s Collabor88, I just didn’t feel cold enough in SL yet to wear it so I held off until the snow started falling on my land. Then I just got to busy with all the holidays I completely forgot about it. Now that I have some free time I am finally getting a chance to blog some of the winter outfits I have put together this month, but never posted about.

It’s a good thing I did wait because most the other things I am wearing did not come up until this month or even in just the last couple of weeks. My adorable bear ear muffs at this round of Collabor88. I couldn’t find a hair I owned that worked well with the earmuffs though, but I was in luck because this hair the Truth released yesterday or the day before (I donno I have not been in SL for a couple days cause of family things) works perfectly!

My boots are also from this month’s C88. I originally got them to wear with a steampunk outfit because they kind have that feel, but I loved them too much to not wear them right now. They are from Ingenue, who is becoming one of my very favorite places to get shoes. Each month she is in C88 I always check her stall first because they are usually shoes and usually shoes I cannot live with out.

The dress is the new Poise dress from Maitreya which fits nicely under the cape if you just where a size or two larger of the cape. I love this dress so much and have so many ideas on ways to wear it, but I will go into that in a later post when it’s more visible.

Crisp Air

Mornings of crisp fall air inspired me to cozy up a little more today.
Love this over sized sweater from ColdLogic, it’s perfect for these cooler October days. I paired it with an older, but still really cute scarf I found in my inventory from Tee*fy. A pair of rolled up boyfriend jeans from Ryvolter I got at the Seasons Story make a perfect comfortable, but not totally winter bundled up combo I think. I also thought this the perfect time to break out the orange flower Bossy Boots from Fashionably Dead that were in the Arcade over the summer.

Hair Fair 2013

It’s that time of year again… HAIR FAIR!!! *runs around with crazy flailing arms* Out of all the fair type events, like skin fair, pose fair, etc…, Hair Fair is my most favorite. One can never have too much hair, right? It’s so easy in SL to change your hair from short to long and back again. Dye it crazy colors or bring it back to a natural color. I have to have lots of variety in my hairs to fit every mood and whim I may have.

With so many great hair creators these days I find it really hard to limit myself. I went way overboard last year buying nearly 40 hairs! Looking back at my old post I realized that so many of them I forgot I had and never wore again. So when it came to hair fair this time I gave myself a stern talking to about really thinking over what hairs I would buy. I still went a little overboard, but really who could blame me with all the awesome hair out there this year?! The total number of hairs I got this is is just under half of what I got last year so i will count that as goal accomplished in not going totally overboard.
You might want to sit back, this is going to be kind of a long post.

Last year Laviere was a new to me hair store, but over the last year they have been working their way to being one of my favorite stores. When I finally got into the fair, which surprisingly didn’t take that long, just a few minutes of constant tp attempts, Laviere was one of the first stores I hit up. As I said before I was really trying to limit myself on what to buy and these two hairs were the ones I felt I could not live with out. It was more difficult to choose which color pack to buy them in actually. Lately I have only been getting fades, I just love that look and Laviere has a great pack with fades, but their textures are so beautifully made that even in the solid colors there is a nice variation to keep the hair from looking flat. I ended up just getting the pastel color pack because the colors are really pretty an it’s the perfect pink!
I simply loved this little curly hair from Tram! I only wish Tram did more non natural colors, but there was this dark salmon-y color that can pass ff as pink so it worked out.

Lamb has some really cute hairs out this year. One of my absolute favorites is True Faith. There is also a similar hair called Blue Monday out and it’s basically the same except it has rolled under and very retro looking bangs. I loved it too and I wear retro styled things a lot, but I had to look long and hard at both hairs and choose which I thought I would get more use out of. Remember trying to stick to a goal of not going too crazy here. As much as I loved the rolled under bangs the more swept to the side fringe won out.
The other hair I got from Lamb is Thieves Like Us. I love that the braids are not super thick. So many braid hairs in SL seem so huge and thick to me. Now I have a lot of hair in RL and the curls ad a lot of volume and thickness to it, but when I braid my hair it is smaller and not all huge like braids tend to be in SL.
Fashionable Dead has some really cute hairs out this year, but by the time I got there I was running low on funds and could only get one. It was hard to choose as this year all (fd) hairs come packaged with two versions… TWO! In the end I got Mercury. I really liked the little floral knotted headband and think I’ll wear it more than the others.

There are a lot of hairs this year with really cute accessories. Ohmai is one of the shops with some of those hairs. I got Athena and Kun. As soon as I put Kun on it reminded me of Melora from Rasputina and could already picture some photo ops and outfits to wear it with.
Some lovely hairs from Clawtooth this yeah, I couldn’t live with out Tootsie. The best thing I think is he’s made a color pack with some of the colors he had int he last arcade round. This pink is my favorite by far.

ISON hair is new to me. Maybe it’s it is new in general, I donno I forget to check back at stores often to see what new things they are up to, but I just remember the clothes. I really liked these two hair styles and they have some nice colors and fades. When you buy the hair you get it with basic colors, and then you have the option to buy other packs on huds. Buying the hair plus the color pack was about 300L, which is nice because for the price of most hairs you get essential natural colors, plus another pack of colors of your choosing. It works out great for me because if I like a hair a lot I will buy it in a basic brown or blonde pack PLUS what ever pack gives me a nice pink or dip dye colors and i was able to do just that for only the price of basically one hair.
LeLutka is another shop this year with pretty accessories for their hair. And I am so happy now that more and more LeLutka hair is being offered in non natural colors!

I was pleasantly surprised by Ploom this year. They usually always have nice hair, just not always in my style. There were two that I just had to have this year. Cassie is so cute with the looped pigtails I could not resist and I really like Ploom’s dip dye pack called Candy.
The other hair I got is Raichu, it’s kinda cute and sassy ponytails done in bunches. There are some really nice details in this hair. Like up front where the hair is in the first band how it is a little poofy, but you can see where the rubber band weighs it down a bit. And the way the swoopy bangs separate from that top poofy part just look brilliant to me. I don’t want to be rude or anything like that, but I really feel like I can see some growth in technique with these latest hairs from Ploom at the fair.
And last, but not least the hairs I picked up at Eaters Coma. This was another shop that made it hard to limit myself. Hair 27 is kinda similar in style to one I got at ISON, but I justified the purchase by reasoning I’d wear the ISON on more in the pinks and as Eaters Coma doesn’t offer funky colors then I would wear it in natural brown. See, perfect reason to get two similar styles!

So those were my picks from this year’s fair. If you haven’t been yet you really should. It didn’t take long to actually get there at all and I made 3 trips and was amazed each time how quickly I got in. Previous years it would literally take me days to get a TP to actually go, but not this year. Also this year’s build is so awesome and cute! If you are having a hard time getting around I suggest finding one of the “bus” dispensers. They really are a life saver for getting around the fair.
