What’s Your Digits… again

I have been really lazy lately and not blogging. I have a lot going on in real life with moving and all and having to pack the way too many things I have acquired in the five years I have been living in this apartment.
Strawberry Singh recently brought back her “What’s Your Digits” blogger challenge and I thought What the heck! I haven’t done it since the first one 2 years ago. If you would like to check out the original post you can here What’s Your Digits? – Take 3

So this is Dizzy 2013 edition. Not too much has changed except she’s gotten ever so slightly shorter and a little fatter. I always am making little minor tweaks to her that usually no one but me would notice. My ideas of what looks good changes from year to year. I look at her shape just from 2 years ago and there are things I feel now don’t look right, but did like them then. Her shape has been ever evolving through the whole 6 years of her SLife. I think I finally have her where I like her and haven’t changed too much in the last year. Mostly now I just adjust for different mesh things.

Proportions Challenge Questions:

1.Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? – I had never really seen the proportions picture, so no I did not try to keep my avatar’s body to the same proportions. Just kind of eyed it for what looked good and in proportion to me.

2.What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? – There are parts of the body that are really jagged. Like around the collar bone and right under it the chest caves in a bit. In some lighting situations it shows up horribly. Also the ankles and wrists are really wonky, but I guess that is fixed now with new mesh hands and feet. (I haven’t jumped on the mesh hands bandwagon yet though.)
Also to me the legs seem really out of proportion to me. Above the knee always looks way longer to me than the portion below the knee. Not so noticeable in shorter avatars, but it really stands out on taller ones. Looks like when an avatar is made taller it adds more length to the legs only from the knee up and not both. That’s just how it seems to me. Kinda one of those things that once I saw it I can’t un-see it.

3.Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? – For the most part no because I do realize in SL everyone is free to have the shape they want and look how they want. Although I do have a pet peeve that makes me cringe every time I see it and that’s when people have little stubby arms. Kinda like a T-Rex. But I would never say anything to the person to change their avatar… unless they are a friend and then I might drop a hint or something.

4.Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? – I feel that as long as you are happy with your shape then that is all that matters. Even though there are certain aspects about shapes that will make me cringe from time to time, I think it is great to see how different people can be with their shape. Makes for a nice variety in SLife.

I warn you now this is a RANT blog post.

I just made a trip down to the Colaber88 project for this month and didn’t think I would tp away all annoyed. I mean shopping how can you not be happy shopping right? My problem is I saw this hair and I thought it was really cute. I have gone back to wearing pink hairs and what luck they had a pink one there! Normally this would be a happy thing right? Not this time. I click to buy the pack with the pink hair and it sends my money back, I try again and the same thing. Finally I noticed when it sent the money back it said I had the wrong group tag on. Oh okay.. so I switched to the Colber88 group cause silly me, I thought because this was AT COLBER88 THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE THAT TAG. No. To buy this hair in the color I want I have to join the STORE GROUP, which Vive 9 just happens to be a group that charges to join. That’s fine.. I don’t really care stores can charge for you to join their groups (i tend to not join those.. I don’t have that kind of money) and they can even have special things just for the group.. I am cool with that. What I am not cool with it having that special store group (that you had to pay to get into) item be at a monthly thing like Colber88. And if you are going to make and item that requires a group tag it should be for the monthly event…. especially since the items are not even at the store but all gathered in the event venue.

The store is already being advertized by just being in the event, they don’t need the added scheme of forcing you to join their group just to get an item at an event. I have shopped Vive 9 outside of events like this and paid their full price for things. I was a customer. Most likely not now. This has annoyed me so greatly I’ll not shop there again.

Another aspect of this that has me all bothered is the price. Colaber88 started off with pretty much everything set at 88L, though this month I noticed some of those prices went up. All the Vive 9 hairs were priced at 188L and the only one set at the typical Colber88 price of 88L was the one you have to have Vive 9 pay for group tag… I call BULLSHIT! Again I don’t care if a store has you pay for their group, has special items for group only and has special prices for the group only… but NOT when they join a monthly event like this! [/rant]

New skin from L. Fauna! This is such a beautiful skin in a total of nine tones… NINE! This skin also comes with freckled versions and 4 cleavage options so you are sure to find one that is right for you. I am wearing tan 2 and I am in love! Many tan skins are so orangey, but not this one.. just simple gorgeous tanness in a realistic tone and not one that looks like it came from a can.
This skin is being sold as a base skin with tattoo layer make-up options. I am wearing just the base skin to show how lovely it is all on its own.

skin: L. Fauna
eyes: Exodi
hair: lamb

Five years ago today my father lost his battle with cancer… and it still feels like only yesterday.

This image was one of my favorites of him growing up. It was taken the day he got his second star.

Then and Now

Blogger Challenge to show what you looked like when you started SL and how you look now. This was kinda fun! And really made me think i need to do some serious inventory cleaning because i still had all those things from when i first started back in August of 2006.
The 2006 picture is the very first skin i bought, It was quite expensive (at least double what good quality skins cost even now), the very first outfit i ever bought, was only $100L, some funky boots I got somewhere for $300L and my free choice noob hair from Gurl6. Towards the end of 2007 I got a bit better clothes.. though still rather revealing as most things i found back then seemed to be and i also started wearing Neko ears and tail in late 2006. I unfortunately never saves the different phases of my shape, but i recreated this one as best i remembered how it look. When i first started SL i was a bit more full figured, but then met a friend that though they were the very word in how fashion and shapes should look and pretty much made me adjust my shape to what they thought was appealing. Towards the end of 2006 I was no longer close friends with them and started a year of tweaking of my shape till i was once more happy with it.
Near the end of 2007 i had major drama in my SL life and I needed a change a change from the Neko as it reminded me of some things and that’s when i first donned faerie ears. I wore them off and on for a whole and then finally in the beginning of 2008 they went on permanently.
Crazy to think I have been in this world for 3 and a half years already.
