Not All Mesh Is Created Equal

Not all mesh is created equal is something to remember when shopping for mesh items. Recently I was a little disappointed when buying a mesh top. I did try the demo, but for some reason I was thinking there might be other sizes when I bought the full. Nope. For male there is only one size and for females there is only small and large. I could have really used a medium.. doh!

I still think the top is really cute and have been wearing it, but the large is way to big and makes me look like I am preggers and floats off my shoulders. The small one is a bit too small and I had to really take a lot of meat off my legs. I didn’t think I had fat legs, but this top has given me a bit of a complex. It doesn’t follow with the standard sizing set up by some of the other stores doing mesh so this top is not going to work for every one. Despite adjusting my legs and arms the mesh still cuts through the body in some poses and even some standard standing AO poses. Make sure you really try out the demo before buying.

In other news I am totally in love with the new hair from Lamb! So cute with the bangs twisted and pinned to the side.
I have also been unable to take off the heart sunglasses from Tres Blah out at Colber88 this month. I bought ever color and have worked them into pretty much all outfits I have been wearing lately.

Annoyed

I warn you now this is a RANT blog post.

I just made a trip down to the Colaber88 project for this month and didn’t think I would tp away all annoyed. I mean shopping how can you not be happy shopping right? My problem is I saw this hair and I thought it was really cute. I have gone back to wearing pink hairs and what luck they had a pink one there! Normally this would be a happy thing right? Not this time. I click to buy the pack with the pink hair and it sends my money back, I try again and the same thing. Finally I noticed when it sent the money back it said I had the wrong group tag on. Oh okay.. so I switched to the Colber88 group cause silly me, I thought because this was AT COLBER88 THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE THAT TAG. No. To buy this hair in the color I want I have to join the STORE GROUP, which Vive 9 just happens to be a group that charges to join. That’s fine.. I don’t really care stores can charge for you to join their groups (i tend to not join those.. I don’t have that kind of money) and they can even have special things just for the group.. I am cool with that. What I am not cool with it having that special store group (that you had to pay to get into) item be at a monthly thing like Colber88. And if you are going to make and item that requires a group tag it should be for the monthly event…. especially since the items are not even at the store but all gathered in the event venue.

The store is already being advertized by just being in the event, they don’t need the added scheme of forcing you to join their group just to get an item at an event. I have shopped Vive 9 outside of events like this and paid their full price for things. I was a customer. Most likely not now. This has annoyed me so greatly I’ll not shop there again.

Another aspect of this that has me all bothered is the price. Colaber88 started off with pretty much everything set at 88L, though this month I noticed some of those prices went up. All the Vive 9 hairs were priced at 188L and the only one set at the typical Colber88 price of 88L was the one you have to have Vive 9 pay for group tag… I call BULLSHIT! Again I don’t care if a store has you pay for their group, has special items for group only and has special prices for the group only… but NOT when they join a monthly event like this! [/rant]

Pink Lemonade and PANTS!

When mesh came out I was a little iffy about people rushing to use it for clothing. I didn’t think for most things it would work well because there is no way to edit it.. not even to adjust the placement of it. Also because the mesh item would be made to fit the creator and I definitely don’t have the same body as most creators as I always have to adjust the things I buy.
Well I am here to eat my words! I am fully on the mesh clothing bandwagon now and all thanks to these great pants from Celoe. In my opinion they have to be the single most awesome pants in existence! Celoe is one of a collective of creators to use a standard sizing chart for mesh clothing. The data for the standard sizing was taken right from us the consumers and more to my amazement… I fit into one of the sizes! I only had to fiddle with my hips by about one or two points, so little that no one but me would ever know I changed. I seriously love these pants so much I never want to take them off. I also wish the makers of Celoe would now make a wide legged denim pant. *hinthintsmile*

Today I decided to dress down the trousers by wearing sneakers instead of heels. I added in one of my film crew shirts from Friday and threw on a nice bright yellow cardigan from Tres Blah. I have a soft spot for sweaters and cardigans and I think before too long I will own every color of these ones from Tres Blah. They are so cute and a perfect length.
My necklace I got at a past colabr88 from Fashionably Dead and now i wish I bought more because I have not seen it in the main store. (Maybe I am not looking in the right spot.. if someone sees them in the store please let me know!) I am usually not a big accessories person and tend to not like jewelery in Secondlife at all other than a few piercings. This necklace has changed all that. Or maybe it’s only for this necklace I have changed my mind. I can’t really say what it is about it that I love so much either. Perhaps because it reminds me of a broken off crystal necklace I ha as a kid. What ever it is.. I have been finding ways to incorporate this necklace into a lot of my outfits since buying it.
Gosh I didn’t realize how much spending I had done lately till writing this. My hair is also new! I used to always wear pink hair and I think it’s high time I went back to it. Picked this hair up at Boon along with a couple more. I really like a lot of their newer hairs, I will be making a trip back there as soon as I have more funds.

This skin also comes with freckled versions and 4 cleavage options so you are sure to find one that is right for you. I am wearing tan 2 and I am in love! Many tan skins are so orangey, but not this one.. just simple gorgeous tanness in a realistic tone and not one that looks like it came from a can.
